Feb 1 – Cookie Baking, Tubing, and Southridge District Pathfinder/Ranger Event

This week, we have our first of four girl-led meetings! R. is going to lead us through a fun evening of cookie baking and decorating. Come ready to work in the kitchen, including with your hair tied back if it’s longer than your shoulders!

Also, reminder that forms and payment for snow tubing at Mount Seymour this Saturday are due tonight!

On Saturday February 4, we are heading to Mount Seymour for a morning of tubing! We’re taking the shuttle from Rupert Skytrain Station to and from the mountain, so there is no need to drive up the hill. Please review the attached forms, and return forms and payment no later than next Wednesday February 1. Cost is $40 per Pathfinder. Remember, online payment via unified banking is preferred. Speak with Christa if you’d like to use your cookie cash towards this outing!

Lastly, the Pathfinder and Ranger Guiders are seeking your feedback on a joint Pathfinder and Ranger district event for the spring! Please fill out this survey by Sunday February 12 to share feedback on the type of activity you’d like to do, and when you are available! Ideas include cooking and baking; laser tag; horseback riding; paint by numbers; outdoor activities and more!

The link to the survey is here: https://forms.gle/sgYLNLUHHMcqV8Xg7

Please complete by Sunday February 12!

Games Night, Girl Led Meetings, Bottle Drive and Tubing at Mount Seymour

This week, the 3rd years will be working on their girl-led meeting and camp plans. We will also be playing some card and board games!

Lastly, remember that we have started in on our bottle drive for the Canadian World Friendship Fund service project! Funds raised through CWFF support Guiding in partner countries in the other parts of the world through mutual aid. Please start collecting returnable cans and bottles in the clear plastic garbage bags we sent home at the January 11 meeting, and plan to bring them back to our meeting on March 1. Bottles need to be dropped off to the bottle depot in clear plastic bags, so if you have extra bottles to return, please plan to pack them in clear plastic for easy return. Thanks in advance!

Welcome to 2023!

This week, we are meeting at the church to get planning, organizing, and looking ahead to 2023! We’ll be working on planning a number of activities that we’ll be doing before Spring Break including two service projects; a Thinking Day meeting; and 3rd years will be working on girl-led meetings (as part of your Canada Cord).

See you at 6:45 pm on Wednesday!
