Online Arts Workshop

This week, we’re doing arts online tomorrow night to rest, relax, and get creative!

Make sure you have the following materials available in advance of the meeting start:

  • pencils
  • colouring materials – coloured pencils, markers etc.
  • paper
  • a comfortable place/surface to sit, such as a table or desk

See you online at 6:45 pm!

2022 Service Projects

At our meeting on January 12, we decided on three service projects we’re going to do as a unit this year:

  1. Collect personal care items and donate to a local agency that supports women or families (personal care products can include new, unused hotel or commercial sized toiletries in their original packaging: lotion, shampoo, conditioner, soap, body wash, razors, deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sunscreen, make-up, hair products/appliances, and assorted beauty supplies)
  2. Collect used books and donate to a local agency that distributes books to people in need (books could include fiction or non-fiction, books for children or adults)
  3. Collect bottles and cans that have a deposit, return them, and donate the fund to the Canadian World Friendship Fund to support Guiding in other parts of the world. (Check out this website for information about all of the different types of containers that have deposits on them! Rinse before storing to avoid smelly, sticky situations)

Please start gathering up the items above, as we’ll bring all of our items for donation together when we reconvene as a group in a few weeks.

Meeting updates for the next few weeks

Given the current situation with COVID 19, we’re going to pivot our meetings for the next few weeks to be online. Thank you all for your patience, understanding, and collaboration as we look to get through this phase of the pandemic together, and in service of our communities.

Take a look at the Calendar invite for this Wednesday’s meeting for the Zoom link.

First meeting of 2022

We hope everyone enjoyed the winter break!

We’ll be meeting online on January 5th for the first meeting of the year to plan for some winter adventures and our Thinking Day/WAGGGS activity, and check in on girl-led meetings that the 3rd years will be running over the coming weeks.

Check the Calendar booking for the Zoom meeting information and see you tomorrow online!
