March 2: Girl-led meeting: Craft Night

On March 2, we’re going to have a crafty evening at the church with our final meeting led by our 3rd years who are working to complete their Canada Cords! It will be a fun and creative evening. We’ll be decorating cloth tote bags, making friendship bracelets, and doing some amazing origami!

Tonight, we’re meeting at the church for a Thinking Day-themed meeting, where we’ll be doing a number of fun activities plus our bottle drive fundraiser.

Bring your returnable cans and bottles for our CWFF Thinking Day fundraiser! We’ll sort the bottles and return them to the Return-it depot to raise money to make a donation to the Canadian World Friendship Fund in honour of Thinking Day

Remember, masks are mandatory for our in-person meeting. See you at the church at 6:45 pm!

Feb 16 Girl-Led Meeting & Feb 23 Bottle Drive Fundraiser

At our next meeting, two of the 3rd years are going to be leading us in some fun activities as part of their requirements for their Canada Cord!

This meeting will be online, so check the Calendar posting for the Teams link.

Also, don’t forget to keep collecting your returnable cans and bottles for our CWFF Thinking Day fundraiser!

Please bring your refundable cans and bottles to the in-person Pathfinder meeting at the church on February 23. We’ll sort the bottles and return them to the Return-it depot to raise money to make a donation to the Canadian World Friendship Fund in honour of Thinking Day

If you want, you could also ask your neighbours or family members to start collecting bottles for you now. Maybe put a flyer in a place where your neighbours will see them and then collect them all on Tuesday the day before Pathfinders!

Alive after Five Young Worker Presentation

Here is the Alive After Five handout booklet from Dani-Rose’s presentation!

This week, we have a presentation from the BC Federation of Labour! The 1st Rangers will be joining us for this interactive and important session as well.

Young workers are at the front of the line when it comes to workplace vulnerability. One-third of reported workplace injuries are from young workers.

The Alive After Five Young Worker Awareness Program of the BC Federation of Labour is an innovative initiative that seeks to make the province a healthier and safer place to live and work for all of us.

The presentations are engaging and interactive for the participants. The program has more than 50 skilled and trained presenters who provide dynamic and insightful information on vital subjects such as:

  • Hazard recognition
  • Knowing your Rights and Responsibilities in the workplace
  • How to properly report injuries
  • What protections are provided by the WCB Regulations

This meeting is taking place on Zoom. Please check the Calendar post for the meeting link and info!
