Updates for Weds May 31

It’s the second-last meeting of the year!  On the go tonight we’ve got:

  • Super fun games
  • Knot workshop
  • A few outstanding items for BC Summer Camp Challenge (which count for your Canada Cord even if you’re not going to camp!)
  • Visitors from Guides who are looking forward to learning about Pathfinders!

Remember to bring your forms for the trip to Steveston this Saturday, and any remaining forms and payment for summer camp to Camp Olave.

Tonight is also the last chance to have any program work signed off before we break for summer, so bring completed modules for review.

We’re selling cookies at the Vancouver Art Gallery on Sunday June 4 form 4-6 pm. This event is mandatory for MCB and HW. All others are encouraged to attend!

Don’t forget to register for fall, if you haven’t already!

CANOEING CANCELLED and sign up for cookie selling!

Canoeing with Ridge Wilderness, which was planned for Saturday April 1, has been cancelled due to low registration. For those that signed up, your $10 will be applied to a future event.

On April 5, we’re selling cookies at Broadway-City Hall Skytrain Station from 4:30 – 7:30 pm. Please sign up for one of two cookie selling shifts, from 4:30 – 6:00 pm or 6:00 – 7:30 pm. We will meet in front of the Skytrain station. Please arrive five minute before your shift, and come in uniform.

Meeting on Feb 22 – EARLY START

We’re celebrating Thinking Day this week by hosting a Thinking Day Tea Party for the Brownies! A few things to remember:

  • The party starts at 6:30 pm. Those doing set up (HW, MCB, MM), please arrive at 6:00 pm.
  • Participating in this event is a requirement for 3rd years finishing their Canada Cord this year (MCB, HTL, HW, MH, IA, RP….!)
  • We’re collecting donations for our visit to the Food Bank on March 29. Bring an item from their “Top 10 Most Wanted” list to this event!
  • Please come in uniform!

You can also bring your forms and payment (or use cookie cash – talk to a leader about this!) for our April 1 canoe lessons with Ridge Wilderness.

February 8 Meeting CANCELLED

Tonight’s meeting will be cancelled due to the winter storm warning.  No need for anyone to drive if they don’t have to.  Hope you are all safe and warm tonight!

Stay tuned for updates about next week’s special guests. Note that we’re starting at 6:30 pm on Feb 15.

This week…

We’re playing games galore! Werewolf, Carcassonne, Code Names, and more!

Please bring back any (dry and clean!) camping gear you borrowed for snow camp. Also, bring updates on the task you signed up to research / be in charge of for our upcoming Camp Olave and Seattle trips. Can’t remember what you signed up for? Check out the Planning page for more details.

This week is also the last chance to sign up for the LifeSaver First Aid course and the Southridge District Thinking Day bowl-a-thon, so be sure to bring forms and payment so you don’t miss out on these fun events.

Meeting reminders for January 18

We’re doing a fun Thinking Day bridging craft, preparing some food and gear for snow camp, and working on the “Action on Poverty” National Service Project this week.

Reminder, forms and payment for the LifeSaver First Aid course with St. John’s Ambulance are due tonight. After tonight, we’ll open up additional spaces to Pathfinders from other units, so don’t miss out! Also, forms and payment for the Southridge District Thinking Day bowl-a-thon are due on January 25.

We’ll be continuing our service project, Camp Olave and Seattle planning on January 25, so check out the Planning tab for to-do reminders!

Meeting Reminder: Dec 7 – Enchant Light Maze

On December 7, we’re heading to the Enchant Christmas Light Maze for our last meeting before winter break!

We’re meeting at 29th Avenue Skytrain Station at 6:30 pm. Please bring your compass card, or change for the Skytrain!

Pick up is from the Light Maze (299 W 1st Ave in Olympic Village) at 8:30 pm.

Dress for the weather – including warm shoes, socks, toques, and gloves! It’s going to be cold, and we’re going to be outside the whole time!

Didn’t bring back your forms and payment to the unit in time? You can still buy a ticket online, bring your permission form, and meet us at the Skytrain station!

Winter wonderlands – updates for Nov 16 meeting!

It’s all about winter this week!

We’re preparing for Snow Camp with a fun evening of games, activities, and team building in preparation for our January camp at Mount Seymour. This meeting is mandatory for Pathfinders and friends that have signed up to attend camp in January as we’ll be covering some very important safety, packing, and planning information. Not sure if you can make it to camp or want more information before deciding whether to attend? Come tonight to learn more!

Forms and payment for our holiday outing to the Enchant: Holiday Light Maze (in lieu of Stanley Park Christmas Train) are due tonight. We’re also heading to Camp Olave soon, so RSVP as soon as possible for that great weekend (forms and payment due no later than Nov 23).

Lastly, we’re supporting the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre this holiday season. Bring items from their holiday wish list for the care packages we’ll be delivering later this month.
