Uniform Exchange

Burnaby Mountain District is hosting a uniform exchange on September 10.  This event would be perfect for Pathfinders moving up from Guides– sell your old Guide shirt and find a new-to-you Pathfinder one.  Returning Pathfinders might also consider attending, especially if your shirt doesn’t fit quite as well as it used to!  The 9th Pathfinders will not be attending as a unit, so make your own arrangements with your family or a friend.  See poster for more information.

Classic Cookies are coming!

The delicious vanilla and chocolate cookies are still only $5 a box, and can be sold starting March 26.  If you would like to get your cookies before the long weekend (family dinners are a great place to sell cookies!) we will be having a cookie pickup next week, March 23.  Please email Amy if you are interested in getting a head start on the selling.  We will also have cookies available for pickup the following week, March 30.

October Reminders

We have lots of events happening in October, so here’s what you need to know.  Click each link for information about times/dates/location.

Cookie Selling at Killarney Community Centre – Let Karla know if you can come for a two hour shift.

Cookie Selling at Broadway Skytrain – This will be instead of our regular evening meeting.

Iron Chef – Girls who have said they are coming must bring their permission form and $15 to one of the cookie selling events.

Fright Nights – If you are planning to attend, you need to bring your money to one of the cookie selling events or the Fort Langley outing.  The cost is $32 in advance, $38 the night of the event.

Program Planning

This week we will be diving into the program modules to do some planning for the year.  Each girl who brings her program book will get a prize!

We also need to decide about some of our outing ideas for the year, so there will also be prizes for anyone who brings information about Fright Nights at Playland (times, cost) and volunteering at the SPCA (age requirement, time commitment).

Planning for the Year

Next week we will start envisioning what we want to do together this year. Come with some ideas on the following topics, and your program book (girls who are new to Pathfinders will be receiving their books soon).

  • What kind of bridging activity would you like to host/attend?
  • Where would you like to go camping?
  • What types of program work would you like to work on?
  • What kind of service/volunteer project would you like to do?
  • What kind of events or special outings are you interested in?

May Camp & Cookie Money

If you are coming to Camp Olave on May 8-10, forms and payments were due this week, but will still be accepted next week.  Please email Amy if you are coming because we need to know numbers for planning.

Cookie money will be due May 13.  If you’ve sold all your cookies already bring your money in ASAP.

If you forgot to bring $5 for yoga last week, please bring it on Wednesday as well.

Come next week with your ideas of what you’d like to do at camp.  Is there a module requirement you need to do?  Do you want to try something new like archery or geocaching?  Bring your book, Wednesday will be fun-filled with camp planning!
