World Centres Party for Guides – May 1

This week we are hosting a party for the Guides! Please note we are in a DIFFERENT location and meeting at a DIFFERENT time.

  • Location: David Oppenheimer Elementary School
  • Room: Spare Time Space
  • Drop Off: 6:00pm
  • Pick Up: 8:30pm
  • Please bring: Your full Pathfinder uniform & a travel mug

Since we are the party hosts it is important that the Pathfinders come ready to participate fully, share what they’ve learned about the WAGGGS World Centres, and be friendly and welcoming to other Guides and Pathfinders.

Intro to Taekwondo

On Wednesday, April 24 we will be doing a free introduction to Taekwondo at Vector Training Centre. A former Pathfinder from our unit now works there and offered us this free introductory session.

No experience is required. The session will involve basic movements like jumping, kicking, and striking. At the end of our session, we will walk a few blocks to Coco Fresh Tea and Juice to get a bubble tea. The unit will cover the cost of the bubble tea.

Drop off will be at Vector Training Centre (3121 Kingsway Ave) at 6:25pm and pick up will be at the bubble tea place (3275 Kingsway Ave) at 8:15pm.

Pathfinders should wear comfortable athletic clothing (no zippers or sharp objects) and no jewelry.

Forms are due to Amanda on Saturday, April 20 at 5pm. This includes completing the SG2, SG5, Vector Training Centre’s Waiver, and indicating what tea you want on the order form. All forms can be found here: https://9thvancouverpathfinders.ca/forms/

Cookie Selling at Metrotown Station

This week, we will be doing group cookie selling at the Metrotown Skytrain Station from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. The drop-off/pickup location will be the corner of Telford and Beresford. Pathfinders should wear their uniforms and come prepared to be outside, regardless of weather.
