Invasive Species Service Project with the Stanley Park Ecology Society
May 4, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
We’re heading to Stanley Park for our springtime service project, which will be a fun and interactive opportunity to support ecological resilience in Stanley Park!
The Stanley Park Ecology Society will be leading us in a private stewardship event where we will learn about invasive species and the local ecology of Stanley Park. We will be active environmental stewards as we work to remove invasive species and create valuable habitat for native wildlife.
When: Saturday, May 4th from 10:00am to 1:00pm – please arrive on time or a few minutes early!
Where: Nature House on Lost Lagoon – 712 Lost Lagoon Path, Stanley Park (Please note that parking is limited in this area, so ensure you leave yourself enough time to find parking and walk to the Nature House).
What to wear: Weather appropriate clothing, solid outdoor footwear, and long sleeves/pants (Many invasive species have thorns, and some people experience a mild reaction to species such as English ivy).
What to bring: Water and a light snack in a small backpack. Stanley Park Ecology Society will provide us with any tools or equipment needed for the event.
