SUMMARY:Spring Camp at Fort Camping\, Brae Island Regional Park
DESCRIPTION:Girls and guiders will spend the weekend exploring nearby trails\, practicing camp skills (i.e. setting up tents\, cooking on camp stoves\, campfire building\, etc.)\, cooking meals in patrols\, and other activities (crafts\, games).  We will visit the nearby Fort Langley HIstoric Site and get ice cream in town. We are camping in individual sites that are next each other. The group campsite has flush toilets\, a camp store\, and a picnic shelter. We will be working on an awesome camp challenge. This with be the Gold camp for two of our Pathfinders working on their Canada Cord. \n\nSG1-Fort Langley Camp-May 31-June 2-2019\nSG2-Fort Langley Camp-March 31- June 2 2019\nFort Camp 2019 Kit List\n\nForms and payment of $65 are due no later than May 15.

DESCRIPTION:We’re heading to Stanley Park for our springtime service project\, which will be a fun and interactive opportunity to support ecological resilience in Stanley Park! \nThe Stanley Park Ecology Society will be leading us in a private stewardship event where we will learn about invasive species and the local ecology of Stanley Park.  We will be active environmental stewards as we work to remove invasive species and create valuable habitat for native wildlife. \nWhen:  Saturday\, May 4th from 10:00am to 1:00pm – please arrive on time or a few minutes early! \nWhere:  Nature House on Lost Lagoon – 712 Lost Lagoon Path\, Stanley Park (Please note that parking is limited in this area\, so ensure you leave yourself enough time to find parking and walk to the Nature House). \nWhat to wear:  Weather appropriate clothing\, solid outdoor footwear\, and long sleeves/pants (Many invasive species have thorns\, and some people experience a mild reaction to species such as English ivy). \nWhat to bring:  Water and a light snack in a small backpack.  Stanley Park Ecology Society will provide us with any tools or equipment needed for the event. \nForms:  SG1 / SG2 – due no later than Wednesday\, May 1st.

DESCRIPTION:We’re learning about the techniques\, theory\, and fun of photography. Tonight\, we will be practicing photography at Queen Elizabeth Park with a professional photographer. We’ll also be working towards the BC Photo Challenge! \nMeeting Place: Meet at the Queen Elizabeth Plaza at the top of the hill (by the big fountain between the Blodel Conservatory and the Parking Lot) at 6:45.\n \nPlease Bring: a camera or something that takes photos (phone\, ipod). Rainjacket and boots if it looks rainy.\n\nPickup: Parents will meet at 8:30 at the Queen Elizabeth Plaza (same place as drop-off).

DESCRIPTION:Pathfinders are invited to attend the Camp Skills Day event on April 20! We are not attending as a unit\, but you can go on your own or with some Pathfinder friends! \nCome out and learn intermediate to wilderness camp skills depending on your branch. The sessions will be interactive\, hands-on\, and lots of fun!
