DESCRIPTION:Come join the Girl Guides of Canada – West Coast Area Council for a celebration of International Women’s Day and all the amazing challenges that women tackle every day. All ages are welcome. \nWCA will be hosting a fun fair of cool things to explore. Beyond brochures and trifold display boards\, we want to get girls trying new skills in hands-on ways. With hundreds of Girl Guide friends\, come explore booths from local businesses\, professionals\, and organizations\, who are contributing their time and enthusiasm. Girls will explore the tables at their leisure throughout the afternoon. There will be a variety of activities set up\, with interesting people to talk to\, demos to try\, swag to take home\, and more. \nWe will be registering for the 2:30 pm event start time. Meeting place will be at Stadium Skytrain Station\, at the top (Beatty Street) exit. From there\, we will walk to VCC.  Pick up will be at the same place at 5 pm. \nThis fun event costs $5 to attend. \nPlease bring back this Girls Can Do It SG2 and $5 confirming your attendance no later than Wednesday January 29.

DESCRIPTION:A perennial favorite! We’re going to do a volunteer shift at the new Greater Vancouver Food Bank warehouse in Burnaby. Note the new location\, and earlier meeting time (6-8 pm)! Uniforms and close toed shoes are mandatory for this service event. Please also bring some non-perishable food items to donate to the food bank. Some of their most needed items are canned beans\, dry pasta\, pasta sauces\, canned fish\, and canned full meals (such as soup or chilli). \nDrop off and pick up is from the new GVFB location (8345 Winston St\, in Burnaby). This amazing adventure will start with a transit journey from East Van to North Van\, followed by a meeting with local MLA Bowinn Ma to learn about being a woman in politics. After that\, we will explore the Shipyards\, possibly go skating or to the Polygon Art Gallery. We will make dinner at Guide House and spend the night playing games and making crafts. In the morning we will have breakfast\, clean up\, do a Guides Own and take the Sea Bus back to meet the parents. \nNote that pick up and drop off is from the Safeway parking lot near Commercial and Broadway – we will be taking transit to North Vancouver together. DESCRIPTION:It’s the annual Great Canadian Shoreline Clean-Up! \nIn addition to taking part of the shoreline clean up\, the 9th Pathfinders will be providing treats as a service project for the district! We will be circulating a sign-up for treat contributions on Wednesday September 25. \nPlease consider bringing a treat that is gluten free\, such as rice crispy squares. All treats must be nut free\, so check your ingredients closely while preparing your wonderful snacks! \nUniforms are mandatory for this public service event.

Alternatively\, you can sign up for the new online health information collection system\, ePACT. This platform is being piloted in BC\, and eliminates the need for hard copy H1 forms! \nDues for the Pathfinder year are $50 per year\, payable either in one instalment in September\, or in two instalments (in September and January). Please plan to bring your dues at the first meeting. Speak with a Guider if you have any questions.
