SUMMARY:NiteHike @ Pacific Spirit Park
DESCRIPTION:Nite Hike is back!  After a two-year hiatus\, the incredible outdoor adventure Nite Hike\, organized by Scouting\, is back! We’d like to take a group from the 9th Pathfinders to enjoy this awesome night of outdoor challenges\, adventure and friendly competition.  The hike goes all night long\, but in previous years if girls have preferred\, we’ve hiked for a few hours. This gives us plenty of time to enjoy the fun\, and still have a comfy sleep after a few hours of adventuring in the dark.  \n$5 registration includes access to all of the adventures\, challenge stations\, and a cool crest!  Kit list will be posted later in March. \nWhat is NiteHike? Here’s what Scouting has to say:  \nIs this your first time attending NiteHike? Have you never heard of NiteHike before? \nWelcome! NiteHike is an all night hike through Pacific Spirit Park near UBC. Participants register in self assigned groups of 4-7 youth plus at least two leaders and hike the approximately 18km of trails in the dark and compete in activity stations for points! The hike group with the most amount of points is declared the winner\, and has their Group name engraved on the NiteHike trophy for all time!  NiteHike usually has around 600 hikers\, and 20-22 activity stations\, and groups can complete as many or as few stations as they want. Youth from Girl Guides\, Scouts Canada\, and Boy Scouts of America are welcome to attend\, with hikers ranging from ages 8 to 80! Most groups that complete the entire event are around 12-14 years of age\, and some groups manage to run the entire trail network to try and finish before midnight! \n\nSG1-NiteHike2022\nSG2-NiteHike2022 Parent Permission Form

SUMMARY:Independent Activity: World Thinking Day - Guiding Lights Lantern Craft & Activity
DESCRIPTION:Announcing our World Thinking Day celebration: GUIDING LIGHTS ACROSS BC – February 22\, 2021! \nCelebrate with BC Girl Guides in your community as we shine our Guiding lights in support of girl empowerment. \nEvery year on February 22\, Girl Guides celebrate World Thinking Day\, a day of international friendship. It is an opportunity to speak out on issues that affect girls and young women\, celebrate the founding of Girl Guides\, and be connected to the 10 million members around the world who are part of the Guiding movement. \nHere in British Columbia\, we have thousands of girls and women who are members of Girl Guides of Canada. We have Girl Guide programs in nearly every community in BC and our girls/volunteers light up their communities year-round through leadership\, community service\, and efforts to create a better world\, by girls. This year’s Thinking Day festivities will look different than usual due to the current health realities\, but we’re excited to celebrate in a way that is physically distant\, keeps our communities safe\, and brings a smile to the faces of girls\, families\, volunteers\, and the public! \nMake a lantern at home\, using the re-usable tea light you received at enrolment or in your creative craft package\, to send a Guiding Light to your community!  Here are some great ideas and templates: \n\nMake an upcycled lantern with an empty metal can and a hammer/nail\nPrint\, cut\, and glue together a triangular lantern or cylindrical lantern made of paper\nCut out candle drip protectors for a candlelit walk
