DESCRIPTION:Camp has been cancelled\, so we’re going snowshoeing instead!  We’ll finish off our Winter Camp Challenge crest\, enjoy a picnic together on the trails\, and practice our snowshoe skills on the 6 km Dog Mountain trail. \nWe’ll meet at the west (far) end of the Mount Seymour parking lot (top of the mountain)\, near the signs for the BC Parks trails.  See the attached SG1 and SG2 for more details. \nThere is no cost to attend. Dress for the weather (non-cotton layers\, snowpants\, waterproof jacket\, waterproof shoes or boots\, toque and gloves) and bring a daypack with 2L water\, an empty travel mug for a warm beverage\, and your personal first aid kit. DESCRIPTION:The Pathfinders decided they want to go to Casa Gelato to celebrate the end of our Guiding year.  We will meet at Strathcona Park (on Raymur Avenue\, across the street from the Food Bank) at 6:45.  After a short ceremony in the park to celebrate our third-year Pathfinder who is moving up to Rangers\, we will walk up to Casa Gelato for a treat.  Then we will come back to the park to eat our gelato and hang out.  Bring a frisbee or soccer ball if you’d like!

SUMMARY:Snow Camp Training Session
DESCRIPTION:This training session is mandatory for anyone planning on attending the West Coast Area Snow Camp from January 9th – 11th at Mount Seymour Provincial Park. \nThis training session is for 3rd year Guides\, Pathfinders\, Rangers and Trex to introduce them to Snow Camping and give them the basic skills and knowledge to go snow camping. This training is required for the girls/guiders interested in participating in the upcoming West Coast Area – Snow Series camps. \nTopics will include tents and winter shelters\, fun and fit food for frosty weather and winter water\, comfy cold climate camp clothing and footwear\, snow sleeping systems and Snow Camping First Aid & Care. \nPlease bring your signed SG2 + SG5 forms plus a cheque for $30 made out to the 9th Vancouver Pathfinders to this training session if you would like to attend the Snow Camp in January.
